Christmas Tree Truck Stocking

This super bulky stocking knits up super quick and can be a great base for any design you would like, or add the included duplicate stitch chart for the old fashioned red truck with a Christmas tree!

A ribbed and folded cuff adds a little interest and an element of cozy, as well as the perfect place to attach the stocking hanger.

You will need 4 colours of yarn in addition to the colour you choose for the stocking, which requires ~137 yds / 125 m.

As shown:
Red (truck): ~7 yds / 6.4 m
Green (tree): ~5 yds / 4.6 m
Black (tires): ~1 yd / 0.9 m
Grey (bumpers): ~0.5 yds / 0.45 m
There is some flexibility in the weight of yarn used for duplicate stitch, it does not have to be exactly the same yarn used to knit the stocking. For example, pictured in black is light worsted held double, and the grey for the bumpers is a thicker super bulky.

Note: not all super bulky yarns are the same! Bernat Softee Chunky is used in the sample, using Lion Brand Thick & Quick will result in a larger stocking! Check your gauge if you are trying to get a certain finished size.

If you would like to add a name to the stocking you just need to pick which side to put it on, and I’ve provided links for some options for how to add a name.

Yarn weight: Super Bulky (CYC category 6) – Note: Bernat Softee Chunky is a light 6.

Gauge: 6 stitches by 9 rows = 2 inches / 5 cm in stockinette

Needle size: US 10.5 / 6.5 mm

Yardage (total): 150 – 160 yds / 137 – 146 m
