Free Pattern: Pineapple Washcloth 2

This was an exercise in adaptation for me. My original plan for Pineapple Washcloth 2 wasn’t appearing in my knitting as I wanted, so in my notes this is actually Pineapple Washcloth 3… If you don’t succeed, try, try again! Luckily I don’t mind ripping back in flat knitting so much because it’s really obvious where the end of your row is.

So Pineapple Washcloth 2 actually features my FAVOURITE stitch! The body of the pineapple is double seed stitch, I believe it is sometimes also called a moss stitch, either way I just love it! I also decided that the crown of this pineapple should be symmetrical, and don’t tell Pineapple Washcloth 1, but I think this new pattern is my favourite. Because of the stitches in this washcloth, it is also reversible! (Side note, maybe I like pineapples so much because they have a crown?)

As with the first pineapple, I strongly recommend blocking when you’re done. I used the wet cloth iron method again for this one because I like the speed. And it’s a lot easier to do with something as small as this.

I didn’t mention it with the first #knittleandpineapple but I’ve written the rows of the pattern in sections of sorts. The idea being that you know what part of the pattern you’re working on in each line. So there’s the border, background, pineapple, background, border. This does mean that often I tell you to k4, k10… It could be written as just k14, but I like the separation and it worked well for my brain as I was designing and writing.

Hi the pattern for the pineapple stitches is not right. The seed pattern is off somehow. I’ve re-knitted this three times and it does not look like the photo.Have you posted the corrected version somewhere? Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Barbara! I did make a transcription error, Row 17 should be:
      k4, k7, *p1 k1* seven times, k7, k4
I’ve noted the change in the pattern as well!
Thanks again, and I really appreciate your persistence with this pattern!
