Little Hearts Washcloth Knitting Pattern

I have often found myself getting a little bit excited as Valentine’s Day approaches. I assume because it is a largely chocolate-based holiday. And for some reason heart-related things have been sparking ideas in my head for years, and this year I actually got one out of my head and into yarn!

Little Hearts Washcloth knit in pink, with a ball of Lion Brand Re-Up and a cedar heart.

This washcloth has very simple, little repeating hearts. All you have to know how to do is knit and purl! And when you have just knits and purls it’s reversible! Most of my washcloth designs of course are reversible, but often I end up having a favourite side. When I was thinking about these hearts in my head I was thinking about it with the reverse stockinette background, and the knit v’s making the heart, since that bottom v would make the point of the heart perfectly! But as I knit it, I was rather enjoying the stockinette background and the bumps forming the hearts!

Unblocked Little Hearts Washcloth knit in Lion Brand Re-Up raspberry.

Use a tapestry needle to weave in your ends. It is recommended that you block your washcloth, I favour steam-blocking for speed if you’re looking to gift your finished washcloth, or get an pic for Instagram (always my goal haha), but since you’ll be washing your Little Hearts as you use them, wet blocking or no blocking would also be acceptable.

I’d love to see your wips and finished projects! Add a project on Ravelry, and/or tag me on Instagram and use the hashtags #KnittleAndPearl and #KnittleHearts.
