Christmas Tree Farm Washcloth Knitting Pattern

Christmas trees have been the theme of this Christmas season for me. They’re always an important part of course – it’s not really Christmas until the tree is up. But many of my favourite Hallmark movies this year have focused on Christmas trees, such as You, Me and the Christmas Trees.

My sister and I also often talk about farms, and usually a Christmas tree farm would be included amongst the many other aspects of our imaginary farm. So it seemed more festive, despite the fact that given some of my other naming patterns for washcloths (Mini Cactus Washcloth, Little Cactus Washcloth, Cactus Washcloth (which also hints at another tree washcloth…)), Mini Trees Washcloth, may have been more expected.

Once trees were established in my mind as a theme, knitting inspiration of course followed. And seeing as I already had some Christmas tree patterns (see: Tree-rrific Christmas Stocking, Nowel Tree Skirt, Noel Tree Skirt, Cables Fir Christmas Tree Skirt), you could be forgiven for wondering how many more Christmas trees I could possible make! I can also tell you that this washcloth pattern (and it’s sister, Little Trees Washcloth) will not be the last of the Christmas trees this year. Too many ideas, too little knitting time available!

I used Knit Picks Dishie for this, and the other tree, washcloths, in the colour jalapeno. This is my first time using Knit Picks Dishie, and considering the number of different dish cottons I’ve used I’m thinking I need to do a post just on the yarn choices for washcloths! As a brief review, I can tell you I liked knitting with it!

Use a tapestry needle to weave in your ends. It is recommended that you block your washcloth, I favour steam-blocking for speed if you’re looking to gift your finished washcloth, or get a pic for Instagram (always my goal haha), but since you’ll be washing your Christmas trees as you use them, wet blocking or no blocking would also be acceptable.

I’d love to see your wips and finished projects! Add a project on Ravelry, and/or tag me on Instagram and use the hashtags #KnittleAndPearl and #KnittleTrees.
