Butter Sweet Candy Corn Washcloth

Next up after the Great Pumpkin Patch Washcloth, in my October themed washcloths, is a candy corn washcloth. Did you know that originally this candy was called “Chicken Feed”? I thought this wasn’t particularly descriptive as I was looking for something other than just Candy Corn for the name of this pattern. But I did see that old packages of candy corn described the candy as being “butter sweet”, and given the colour I chose to knit my washcloth in, butter sweet seemed perfect!

The washcloth has 3 rows of candy corn, with the middle row offset from the top and bottom. Candy corn is of course very basic, it’s just a tri-coloured triangle. I didn’t want to do colourwork, so went to my washcloth standby – texture. If you don’t want it to be candy corns, these simple triangles could just be triangles, or pyramids, or mountains! And as with most of my textured knit washcloths, it’s reversible!
